iLL STRINGZ
“iLL Stringz is an up and coming hip hop artist who is working hard to make a name for himself in this tough industry. He has been a fan of hip hop since he was a kid, admiring artists such as The Notorious BIG, Jay-Z, Big L, and many artists who top the charts today. In the beginning, freestyling became a hobby and a way to pass time. However, growing up in the inner city of Milwaukee, iLL learned quickly that everyone around him were either a drug dealer, an addict, or a gangster. He decided he did not want to become a statistic and decided to take his hobby more serious.
In 1998, iLL teamed up with another young rapper by the name of Prom and formed the group iROC the Streetz. They both had the vision and the dream of becoming famous and believed their music was strong enough as a duo. After making countless calls to labels and leaving freestyles on answering machines they received a call back from Nas Collins, an A&R for Ruff Ryders Records. iROC the Streetz were invited to New York to battle other artists at Power House Studios. Sadly they ended up losing the rap battles and were told they weren’t ready yet. This was a disappointment to the duo, but it did give them inspiration to work harder to reach their dream.
With all their hard work and dedication after four years there was no sign of being signed to a major label. iLL and Prom put music on the back burner and began to build their lives and grew apart from being a group. iLL has a new found passion for music, became a solo artist with Prom as his manager, and for the past few years he has been on his grind. Releasing his second Mixtape, The InterMission, he is ready to take over”
